Here are local groups or places that provide support for dogs and their owners.

Friends of the Animal Center Foundation (FACF) whose purpose is to raise funds to support and expand the animal care services of the Iowa City/Coralville Animal Care and Adoption Center, sponsors events to support the shelter.

The Iowa City/Coralville Animal Care and Adoption Center is looking for a permanent home for all their dogs (and cats).

Johnson County Humane Society is made up of a group of dedicated volunteers devoted to providing programs and services for the animals and people of our community.

Midwest Aussie Rescue, a group of volunteers that help homeless Australian Shepherds. If you adopt an aussie from this group and live in the Iowa City area, your dog comes with a tag to the Thornberry Off-leash Park.

K9COLA is a volunteer group that supports the development of off-leash areas (OLAs) in the Cedar Rapids area. Cheyenne Park Off-Leash Area has opened in November 2001.
